Keystone Active Zone

The Keystone Active Zone (KAZ) Campaign is designed to make Pennsylvanians aware of the many municipal, county, and state parks and trails available to help them get - and stay - active. The Manage KAZ site provides counties the tools to promote awareness of close-to-home parks and trails, and encourage increased physical activity to help residents lead healthier lifestyles.

Created to put this principle into practice, the statewide Keystone Active Zone (KAZ) campaign helps foster county-level partnerships with recreation, health, and education professionals to promote local parks and trails as great places for physical activity across Pennsylvania. KAZ empowers these partners to work with media and other groups to increase awareness and usage of community trails, and you get the dual benefit of a great family workout close to home!

The program is administered by Pennsylvania Advocates for Nutrition and Activity (PANA) and was developed in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society and the Pennsylvania Departments of Health and Conservation & Natural Resources. Regional Resource Protection Plan
Northern Federation

The Federation of Northern Chester County Communities (the Northern Federation) has been addressing planning issues that transcend municipal boundaries since it was established in 1974. Municipalities in the Region have worked over the last three decades to increase protection of resources through their individual planning documents and ordinances, as well as working together to develop regional water resource plans and studies. Municipal protection efforts have been progressive and effective at the municipal level, however, until now the Northern Federation has not developed a plan for regional resource protection. <LEARN MORE>
